Asclepius is on a mission to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS around South Africa. We want to be able to reduce the amount of people who contract HIV/AIDS in Southern Africa in the future, and provide antiretroviral therapy (ART) for anyone who already has the disease.
Our organization will be selling medical supplies to hospitals in order to gain enough money to help out.
Our products include: First-Aid Kits, Care packages, Hospital Gowns, Bed Sheets, etc.
We plan to use airborne drones to travel throughout Africa and ship medicine to hospitals and any other places in need. The reason we are using an airborne drones is to get the supplies to hospitals, and to avoid the rough terrain that would other wise slow us down. Especially since it is important to get ART as soon as you possible.
“ Lebogang Motsumi was 27 when she was infected with HIV by a “sugar daddy” – a man significantly older than her who was capable of showering her with the gifts she believed she needed to fit in with her friends and feel more accepting of herself. She was reluctant to use a condom because she feared being perceived as promiscuous by men and felt she was “not in control” of the situation when she was with her sexual partners. “
